Homemade Graham Crackers

Ingredients

  • wheat flour 1 cup
  • sugar 0.5 cups
  • salt 0.5 teaspoons
  • cinnamon powder 1 teaspoon
  • baking soda 1 teaspoon
  • butter 0.5 cups
  • honey 0.25 cups
  • water 0.25 cups

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F).
  2. Combine the whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, dark brown sugar, salt, ground cinnamon, and baking soda in a food processor and pulse to mix.
  3. Add the chilled butter and pulse until the mixture resembles coarse meal.
  4. Add the honey and water, then mix until a dough forms.
  5. Remove the dough, shape it into a flat disk, and place it between two pieces of parchment paper.
  6. Roll the dough out to about 1/4 inch thick, then cut into crackers or shapes.
  7. Place the crackers on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake until set and lightly golden.
  8. Cool the crackers before serving.

Serving suggestions

Pack in lunch boxes, or serve with milk or yogurt. Makes about 24 crackers — 4 per serving.

Storage suggestions

Store the cooled graham crackers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week. For freezing, freeze the cut-out shapes on a baking sheet for 20 minutes, transfer to a freezer bag, and freeze for up to 4 months. Bake from frozen, adding 1 to 2 minutes to the baking time.
